CactusSoft Successfully Completed the New Zealand Project BookMy.Pet

“CactusSoft blew us away with their proposal for our website development so much that we’ve discarded all other options when choosing our development partner,” said Laurence Smith, СЕО of Software Revolutions. In October, Laurence and his company are launching BookMy.Pet – a New Zealand portal which helps pet owners book suitable appointments for grooming, boarding and other types of services from pet businesses. CactusSoft was chosen as a website development partner. Mr. Smith admits that he was most impressed by the design proposed by the IT provider, and the resulting job by CactusSoft’s had the “wow” effect for the New Zealand company’s clients.

“The BookMy.Pet portal is designed for pet owners who would like to book services for their pets from businesses using Petlinx software, a Windows-based desktop application. The data about pet owners, their pets and bookings flow from BMP to Petlinx, so that the companies are able to easily manage this information. The main customer’s request was to provide end users (pet owners) with immediate access to a calendar and to allow them to see available booking time slots before registration or authorization,” says Project Manager Anna Yazvinskaya. “Taking into consideration this idea, we’ve managed to develop a design concept that pleased our customer.”

Petlinx

The general idea was to create a booking process that was really convenient and user-friendly. The website is designed in such a way that it enables pet owners to book pet groomers and care services from the home page – with no additional clicks. Pet owners don’t necessarily have to be registered on the site in order to see the schedule and available visiting hours for the requested service – everyone can see both booked and available calendar slots on the main page.

After choosing and booking the date, the user is prompted to register and add pet details: pet pic, type, sex, date of birth, color, vaccination info and so on.

Users are able to select between three modules: Groom, Board and Daycare. All bookings (past and upcoming) are kept on the dashboard.

Portal development has lasted for three months; the project team included six people. The project involved design and development for both web and mobile versions. During the development process, technologies such as ASP.NET Core 1.1, OrmLite, Angular 4 and an open source, customizable JavaScript event calendar have been used.
