Powering Stability Through Strategic IT Support
DOMO Chemicals is a Belgian company and global leader in advanced engineering materials and sustainable polyamide solutions. It is a large enterprise with manufacturing sites around the world and a strong presence in the chemical industry. The company is undergoing a significant digital transformation, replacing several legacy IT applications with modern, market-proven solutions.
To ensure business continuity during this shift, DOMO partnered with Cactus to maintain and enhance its end-of-life software systems. Our collaboration began through a middle-part provider who already trusted Cactus and introduced us to Domo.
02. CHALLENGE
Bridging the Gap Between Legacy and Future IT
When Cactus joined the project, DOMO was at a critical phase in its IT transformation. Several legacy applications, still essential to daily operation, required dedicated support and development capacity. However, their internal resources were fully focused on building the future IT landscape, leaving a gap in the maintenance and evolution of their existing systems.
These legacy platforms had limited documentation and a complex, aging infrastructure. To avoid any disruption and ensure business continuity, DOMO needed a trusted partner who could step in quickly understanding their environment.
03. SOLUTION
Full Lifecycle Support with a Dedicated Agile Team
To support DOMO’s legacy systems and ensure business continuity, Cactus deployed a dedicated development team that includes a technical lead, full-stack developers, and back-end specialists. This structure allows us to cover all aspects of the application lifecycle from troubleshooting and maintenance to implementing new features when needed.
Our team took full ownership of DOMO’s .NET-based environment and began supporting applications such as Orbitus, Transwide, and EnterprisePlanning. Up until today we work hands-on to:
Stabilize and optimize legacy systems
Reverse-engineer and document the existing CI/CD infrastructure
Identify improvement opportunities in an aging, undocumented codebase
Collaborate daily with internal teams across SAP, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and server operations
Using an agile, solution-focused approach, we ensure that the systems remain robust, responsive, and ready for smooth transition into DOMO’s future IT landscape.
04. RESULT
Sustained Stability and Future-Ready Systems
Thanks to our collaboration, DOMO’s legacy systems remain stable and fully operational throughout their transformation. We help to introduce long-delayed improvements and make the environment more reliable overall.
Our team fills critical knowledge gaps by documenting key systems and processes, reducing risk and making future transitions smoother. With consistent support and ongoing enhancements, DOMO can now focus on building its new IT landscape, knowing that its existing platforms are in expert hands.
CONCLUSION
A Trusted Partner for Resilient Transformation
Our collaboration with DOMO Chemicals is still ongoing. By stepping in during a time of crisis, Cactus has become a key player in maintaining and evolving DOMO’s legacy systems, enabling the company to focus on its future IT roadmap without compromising daily operations.
Through technical excellence, flexibility, and strategic support, we help DOMO move forward while keeping its digital foundation rock-solid.
